He is an incredibly accomplished researcher with hundreds of publications in the field of sports science and injury mechanisms. He has been one of the most outspoken critics of the acute:chronic workload ratio (ACWR) and the concept of ‘training load error’ and he spoke passionately about what the flaws with it are, why he feels it should be discontnued, and what a better way to monitor load may be.
