In a display of defiance, several markets in Anambra State remained shuttered on October 14, despite Governor Charles Soludo's stern warning to seal non-compliant shops.
The governor's threat, issued just a week prior, vowed to penalize traders who refused to open their shops on Mondays.
Soludo's visit to key markets last Monday was meant to send a strong message: comply or face consequences.
However, traders seemed unfazed, choosing instead to keep their shops locked and barred.
Major markets like Ochanja reported a dismal turnout, with many traders opting to stay away.

Meanwhile, Governor Soludo's tour of Anambra State to ensure compliance with Monday activities was met with jubilation in areas like Afor Nnobi, as residents welcomed the push to end the infamous Monday Sit-at-Home order.
