For over 100 years, The Plaza Hotel has been the New York Hotel to see and be seen. Ideally situated on Fifth Avenue, the Plaza's prestigious address and unmatched service continues to draw people through it's doors. I was so excited to add this hotel to my roster! It did not disappoint.
It's the magical castle on Central Park South home to Kevin from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (the movie featured a cameo by then owner Donald Trump) and the "Kevin Suite" (room 411) can be yours for about $1,100 a night. Another famous resident was the mischievous Eloise, whose antics have delighted readers since 1955. There is a suite experience for the Eloise lover too. Around $3,000 per night depending on the season, it includes an Eloise bathrobe, a gift card, a framed photo of you in the suite and an Eloise book.
I switch gears after the Plaza and spend not one but two days exploring the borough of Brooklyn. With my local guide and good friend, Courtney Stevens, we travel up and down 5th Avenue in Park Slope which was named Time Out's coolest street in New York. From restaurants, to record shops, to mom and pop shops--this was so much fun! Day two found me wandering solo around DUMBO. This is the iconic neighborhood (woops, I mean borough) under the Manhattan Bridge. I show you the iconic photo spot at Washington street between Front and Water where the cobblestone streets perfectly frame that captivating view of the bridge and the city.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on my adventures! What are some of your favorite NY spots?
