RISE joins the Serial Killaz label with five heavy cuts spanning jungle and rollers on his latest release. Over the past three years, RISE has been a prolific force in the world of drum and bass. Labels have flocked to him as he has developed a versatile sound taking influence from 90s jungle, dark minimal, and rolling jump up; all apparent on his latest EP as he blends past, present, and future sounds together.

History In The Making starts proceedings with a majestic and airy melody. In an ode to practices of the past, vocals sampled from live sets introduce raw two-step drums and a dirty call and response bassline at the climax of the track.

The aptly-named Keep The Vibes is a sharp, grime-flavoured piece of jungle. Fluid eskibeat-style leads and basses paired with quickfire kicks and snares are the order of the day here. Certified subwoofer rattler.

You Gal is an effortless blend of minimal and jump up styles of drum and bass. A flamenco guitar opens the track alongside dancehall vocals, offering a contemporary take on a staple sound of mid-90s jungle.

Warning continues the ragga vocals motif in a more minimal context; think reverb-drenched percussion in the intro, a hypnotic bassline melody, and intermittent pitched-down amen samples. One heavy stepper.

RISE closes the EP with One Away, a 160 BPM jungle heater harking back to the early days of jungle. Chopped breaks, warped basses, and glitched vocals make for a weighty roughneck tune. Gunfingers crew, assemble.
