Yes, we continue our videos and trips in Damascus, the capital of Syria. In my previous video, I tried to show you my arrival story. Now I'm trying to wander the streets and interact with people. So what happened in Syria in short?

There has been a great humanitarian crisis and turmoil in Syria in recent years. The main cause of this crisis is the Syrian Civil War, which started in 2011. The protests that started against the Syrian government gradually turned into armed conflicts and plunged the country into chaos.

The civil war resulted in the formation of various fronts between different groups and actors. The Syrian government was supported by a strong army controlled by the Baath Party led by President Bashar al-Assad. Government forces carried out various military operations to suppress the rebels, known as opposition groups. In the early stages of the war, clashes between the Syrian army and opposition groups intensified.

But the Syrian Civil War has become more complex over time. Different groups and militias emerged. Islamic militant groups, especially organizations such as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and Al Nusra Front, have gained control over large areas. These groups changed the nature of the war and engaged in conflicts with both government forces and other opposition groups.

The Syrian Civil War also witnessed the intervention of regional and international powers. Supporting the Syrian government, Russia and Iran provided military aid to government forces. On the other hand, many countries, including Western countries, regional powers and some Gulf countries, stepped in to support opposition groups.

As a result of this complex war, millions of people were displaced and many lost their lives. The country's infrastructure has been largely destroyed and access to humanitarian aid has been severely restricted. Claims of human rights violations and war crimes also came up frequently.

In recent years, armistice agreements have been concluded between various parties. But it's hard to say too sharply about Syria. Life has returned to normal in the face of what I saw on the spot, but I will especially pull out other regions and do more detailed research.
