Julie Taylor Tapestry -

Julie studied fine art at art college and spent several years after graduation as a painter, illustrator. and teacher. This background and influence plays into a painterly style of finished surface in her work - Julie continued her interest in education.

Using chose woven tapestry to work with as opposed to any other medium as it gives her a form of artistic expression that has no parallel both in the making process and in the finished work.

​There are many challenges to weaving tapestry and Julie is still discovering new and interesting techniques that keep her engaged with this medium after many years of weaving and teaching.

Tapestry weaving can fulfill the need we all have to use our hands, mind, body and imagination to create a physical legacy using colour and shape that connects us to our past, present and future.
