Scholarship Applications take time and effort. You don't want to take all the time to complete an application and then not win because of a poor essay. Use these tips and tricks to write a killer scholarship essay that will win! You won't win every time, but increasing your odds will serve you well in your scholarship journey.

Here are some scholarship essay tips on how to write a scholarship essay!

Make sure you prepare ahead of time and plan to write 3 drafts. Have someone else edit your paper. Pre-plan by combining multiple scholarships with the same essay prompt into one amazing essay. Then you don't have to write one for each scholarship. And make sure you don't miss the deadlines!

Be simple, clear, concise, and pay attention to word count. You don't want to get disqualified. Give yourself plenty of time by starting early.

Begin with a strong intro and hook! Leave out filler or fluff. Use your own vocabulary, be authentic, and exploit your accomplishments. Include any hardship stories, but do it the right way. Also explain any college major or career goals.

Remember, if you're in a scholarship application process with multiple rounds, you may have to have an interview round. They will ask about your essay, so don't include anything that isn't true or it'll catch you off guard and won't look good.
