Part 7 of I Bought a Dead 22 Year Old Honda Insight Hybrid and Drove it Home After It had sat for 5 Years! Purchased a used ECM from eBay and installed an immobilizer bypass circuit board to get it working in my 2000 Honda Insight IMA Hybrid. I was hopeful that this would fix a misfire I experience where the green Immobilizer light on the dash flashes and it feels like the engine turns off. Then I explore the world of contact cleaning all the contacts to the ECM, ignition switch and even the under the hood fuse block. Again failing to resolve the Misfire I burn off the crud from the Air/Fuel ratio sensor with a torch.
None of these things solved my problem so I'm going to buy a new set of ignition coils for the car because they look quite old and have a fair amount of rust on the fins of the coil packs. This will be in the next video on the Honda Insight once the parts come in.
