Golden CO is home to Coors Brewing company. There is a massive brewery there but it's also a historic town with the Colorado School of Mines and some great views of the surrounding mountains. I've wanted to visit Golden for many years; it's right outside Denver, but I just haven't made the time. So, today we hike around downtown and then up to the School of Mines and through a historic neighborhood. We finish up down by the river aka Clear Creek, a beautiful little stream that runs through the valley. I was really impressed with this town..

Question of the day: I've had many people express a desire for no Narration but many more seem to enjoy it. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I could record the ambient sound and my talking at the same time. I usually try to speak extemporaneously so narrating after the walk doesn't appeal.

The City of Golden is the Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat of Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. Golden lies along Clear Creek at the base of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Founded during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush on June 16, 1859, the mining camp was originally named "Golden City" in honor of Thomas L. Golden. Golden City served as the capital of the provisional Territory of Jefferson from 1860 to 1861, and capital of the official Territory of Colorado from 1862 to 1867. In 1867, the territorial capital was moved about 12 miles (19 km) east to Denver City. Golden is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 18,867
