This video is applicable to all of Hornby’s 2022 onwards retooled Class 43 HST loco pairs, not just my example choice.
The ModelU 3D-printing company of Bristol are bringing out more & more Crew(s) to specially fit selected manufacturer’s locomotives, the currently newest Hornby Class 43 being one of them. As I have found myself making a series of videos using the very attractive blue LSL Midland Pullman train, it had to have this new very realistic Driver.
This video shows you how to install him & the many problems that have to be solved whilst attempting it. So I’ve done the solving, so you don’t have to !
Hornby have given little thought to easy access to the Cab Seats. A shame, because it would be easy for them to have transferred the Seats onto the designed to be removed, Cab rear panel moulding.

This is my first genuine 4K video, after I looked at the camera settings & found 4K wasn’t the default, but had to be especially selected. Boy does it use up a huge amount of data space, this one being 31 GB !

My choice of train – LSL Midland Pullman. As soon as someone spotted (for the first time) this amazing looking blue & white train for real, leaving Eastleigh Shed or somewhere in the far south of England & uploaded their footage to YouTube, I was fascinated. I love the original 1960s Blue Pullman & have the Bachmann one, which is just gorgeous. So when Hornby announced they were introducing this one-off HST 125 set, I had to have it, all of it, so ordered the whole train straight away. I think the train first appeared in Hornby’s centenary catalogue back in 2020.
