Solving a Complex SAI System CEL on a 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo (The Dark Knight) | Yogi’s Garage

At Yogi's Garage, we tackled a challenge that left two independent shops stumped: resolving a persistent Check Engine Light (CEL) involving the Secondary Air Injection (SAI) system on a 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo, affectionately known as The Dark Knight. With strict Texas emissions regulations, this repair wasn't just about fixing a light—it was about ensuring this high-performance machine passed its emissions test and got back on the road legally.

After performing thorough diagnostics, which included a cold start test, I pinpointed the root cause of the CEL, where others had failed. Despite previous repairs, including the replacement of the secondary air injection pump, the issue persisted, but I knew there was more to the story. Leveraging my expertise in automotive electrical diagnostics and advanced problem-solving skills, I systematically worked through the throttle position sensor, wiring, and ECU, testing every component related to the SAI system.
