[Episode 3] Mission Accomplished! I've Arrived! 6 Days & 2,280 Miles - The Four Corners, A Motorcycle Journey

It was a beautiful time of day to reach the Four Corners. One location, four States and an amazing moment There was a silence and calmness that you find at the end of the day within a few hours of sunset. I walked the short distance to the monument, placed my gear on a bench in the shade, and then just soaked in the experience. I rode 2,280 miles from home to the Four Corners. Even though I mentioned that the destination was a device to get me going and a goal to achieve, it felt more than that. I had a sense of calmness and of stillness.

I had done something challenging. There was some struggle, there was apprehension, there was a range of emotions, but there was perseverance. I had gratitude for the opportunity to embark on this adventure and to be standing at Four Corners. The aspect that I recognized in myself as I stood there, was that I carried that stillness, that calmness, and easy breathing through it all, through all those miles. There was peace in the place and there was peace in me.

The Four Corners Monument Navajo Tribal Park was the “pin” on the map from where I would plan all other potential routes. I needed to put a “pin” on the map and designate a point that would pull me forward. Something that would be a beacon and a guidepost to a place. It would be the gravity that would pull me over 2,200 miles from home in Florida. It would be the longest “walk” to the corner I had ever taken. Four places in one, four states at one GPS coordinate (New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, & Utah), and a moment to anticipate. 19 days and 5,400 miles, a motorcycle adventure to remember.
