今回は山陽本線岡山エリアの動画集をお送りいたします。山陽本線は神戸駅と門司駅を結ぶ長大路線ですが、本編では広島県の糸崎駅と兵庫県の上郡駅の間で撮影した動画集をご覧になれます。国鉄時代に製造された車両が数多くみられていた区間ですが、現在227系500番台Uraraによる置き換えが進行中です。113系と115系の運用の大幅な減少と一部廃車が発生しております。
227系500番台Uraraは前述のとおり、従来の国鉄車両の置き換えを目的に山陽本線岡山地区と伯備線及び宇野線に投入された最新鋭の鉄道車両です。ステンレス車体にピンクのラッピングが目立ちますが、かつて山陽本線で運転されていた快速サンライナーを模したラインが加えられています。車内は広島地区で運転されている227系0番台Red Wingに準じておりますが、車両間の扉をより少ない力で開けられるといった改善点が見受けられます。
本編の終盤には岡山県和気町のレンタサイクルで探訪した旧片上鉄道吉ヶ原駅の動画をおまけ動画としてご覧になれます。和気駅周辺ではブルースプリングベーカリーというパン屋で行列が見られるほか、藤の花を鑑賞できる「藤まつり」が期間限定で開催しています。ちょっとした観光におすすめです。

We are pleased to present a collection of videos taken in the Okayama area of the Sanyo Main Line. The Sanyo Main Line is a long line that connects Kobe Station and Moji Station, and in this volume, you will see a collection of videos taken between Itosaki Station and Kamigori Station. The line is currently being replaced by the Series 227-500 Series URARA, and the number of Series 113 and 115 trains has been greatly reduced.
As mentioned above, the Series 227-500 Urara is a state-of-the-art railcar that was introduced in the Okayama area of the Sanyo Main Line to replace the existing JNR railcars. The stainless steel body with pink wrapping is conspicuous, and lines have been added to resemble the Rapid Sunliner that used to operate on the Sanyo Main Line. The interior is similar to the Series 227-0 Red Wing operated in the Hiroshima area, but there are some improvements, such as doors between cars that can be opened with less force. The interior swaying is greatly reduced compared to the 113 and 115 Series, and comparisons are easy to make on the ride between Kurashiki and Fukuyama.
At the end of this part, you can watch a bonus video of the former Katakami Railway Yoshigahara Station, which was explored on a rented bicycle in Wake Town, Okayama Prefecture. In the vicinity of Wake Station, you can see queues at a bakery called Blue Spring Bakery, and the “Wisteria Festival” is held for a limited time to view wisteria flowers. It is recommended for a short sightseeing tour.
