Hello and welcome back

I was so delighted when Jean brought her lovely new sewing machine along for me to review and I’ve brought your along on our little journey.

Please accept my apologies if you can hear barking. Jean brought her lovely cocker spaniel Missy with her. Missy is near 14 and is going deaf, but she continues to be a loyal and loving companion ❤️

Jean bought the machine from www.daviddrummond.co.uk a sewing machine retailer in Edinburgh but there are many other stockists around the world and the Janome website for the United Kingdom is www.janome.co.uk

The pictures of Amy Emms were all sourced from Google Images.
Her book, of which my copy is so buried in my garage that I cannot find it, is available from Amazon and is called Amy Emms’ Story of Durham Quilting.
The other quilt historian I mention is Dorothy Osler who wrote a book called Traditional British Quilts. I am unable to photograph from that book and share the pictures due to licencing.

Pictures of British North Country Quilts can be viewed using this initial link to the collections at Beamish Museum.

Happy reading 
