In this video I finally get to swap in brand new, factory recommended, spark plugs to the Toyota 4.7L V8. The vehicle in this video is my, new-to-me, 2005 Toyota 4Runner with the 2UZ-FE engine. I've been wanting to change the spark plugs and finally found a chance to do it.

Recently, I did get a chance to inspect the plugs when I was changing the valve cover gaskets and noticed the ignition coils were burnt. Upon inspection I noticed every single one of the plugs were loose. Some just finger tight. This is not good. An under-torqued spark plug can cause a lot of problems including an inability to dissipate heat to the engine. This can cause a spark plug to overheat and very likely cause failures such as this internal pressure seal that we see in this video.

I removed the old spark plugs and installed brand new Denso SK20R11 which is the factory recommended plug. I torqued them pretty much to spec (spec is very hard to find for some reason). I also replaced an ignition coil with a OEM Denso unit as well. I might swap out the rest of the coils soon as well.

Hope you enjoy this video!
