Grandma's Red Koji Wine

Red yeast rice has been used in China for over 1,000 years for medicinal purposes. Red Koji not only lowers total blood cholesterol level, it also has many health nourishing benefits, such as improving blood circulation, detox, as well as anti-aging. The benefits of drinking red koji wine for different people:
Beauty-loving women: anti-oxidation, detoxification and beauty.
Men: Promote metabolism and strengthen the body.
Middle-aged and elderly people: invigorate blood, promote metabolism, nourish blood and nourish skin and strengthen the body.
Confinement mothers: help with milk, improve blood circulation and beauty. (must evaporate the alcohol content before consuming)

8L Jar Container
1.5kg white glutinous rice
3L rice wine
16g spicy wine yeast powder
32g white wine yeast powder
100g fermented red rice powder

How to Sterilise the glass bottles and jars
10x 500ml glass bottles
6x 240g glass jars

The Oven Method:
1. Wash glass bottles, jars and lids with mild soap, rinse and drain..
2. Place glass bottles and jars on the oven rack, leave some space in between.
3. Set temperature to 110-120 degrees celcius. Heat bottles and jars in the oven for 15-20min.
4. Sterilise metal seals in boiling water for 5 minutes and then leave in water. Then take out to air dry.
5. Check to ensure bottles, jars and lids are dry before adding wine and red vinasse.

Stove Top Method:
1. Wash glass bottles, jars and lids mild soap, rinse and drain.
2. Ready a big deep pot of water.
3. Place the bottles and jars into the pot. Ensure fully covered
4. Bring to boil for 15 minutes.
5. Use tongs to remove bottles and jars from the pot. Leave to air dry.
6. Check to ensure bottles, jars and lids are dry before adding wine and red vinasse.

Consume responsibly and with care.
Don’t brew if menstruating, pregnant or if close family passes away!
