Prepare the Vehicle:
1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels but do not remove them yet.

2. Lift the Vehicle:
Use a floor jack to lift the front of the car. Place jack stands under the vehicle for support.

3. Remove the Wheel:
Once the car is securely lifted, remove the lug nuts and take off the front wheel.

4. Remove the Caliper:
Locate the caliper assembly which holds the brake pads. It is typically secured with two bolts.
Remove the bolts and then the caliper. Hang the caliper with a wire hanger or bungee cord to avoid putting strain on the brake line.

5. Replace Brake Pads:
Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.

6. Use a C-clamp or brake piston compressor tool to retract the caliper piston back into the caliper housing.
Install new brake pads into the caliper bracket. Apply brake lubricant to the back of the brake pads if required.
Replace Rotors (If Necessary):

If replacing the rotors, install the new ones onto the wheel hub.
Secure the new rotors in place using any retaining screws that were removed earlier.

7. Reinstall the Caliper:
Slide the caliper assembly back over the new brake pads.
Secure the caliper in place by tightening the bolts.
Reinstall the Wheel:

Put the wheel back onto the wheel hub and tighten the lug nuts by hand.
Lower the Vehicle:

Carefully lower the vehicle using the floor jack and remove the jack stands.
Tighten Lug Nuts:

Once the vehicle is back on the ground, tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.
Bedding the Brakes (Optional):

After installation, it's recommended to bed in the new brake pads and rotors. This involves a series of gentle stops from low to moderate speed to transfer a layer of friction material onto the new rotors.
Repeat the process for the other side of the vehicle. Always refer to the vehicle's manual for specific instructions and torque specifications, as they may vary slightly depending on the model and year. If you're uncomfortable performing this task, it's always advisable to seek professional assistance.
