A fiddle tune from Alva Greene of Kentucky. If my memory is correct Alva Greene was a colleague of Dirk Powell’s grandfather if so he may have learnt this tune directly from Alva Greene. Alternatively he may have got it from Mark Wilson and John Harrod who recorded material by Greene and many others in the 1970‘s much of which was issued on the original Rounder label.
This track was digitised from a cassette recording issued I believe in the 90‘s probably on the Yodel- Ay - Hee label. I don’t believe that it has ever been re-issued.
