Quick tutorial on how I get fatter and punchier drums with parallel processing.
Parallel processing on drums is basically creating a duplicate copy of the drums and adding heavy effects to it, such as bit crushing, drive/saturation and compression.
The wet channel is then mixed in with the dry channel to taste.
The benefit is that the wet signal adds power and punch while the dry signal preserves the original dynamics and transients. It’s a win-win.
