Let me start off by saying I love fishing Dana Point! Beautiful clear water, awesome scenery, and a very easy beach launch make Dana Point an appealing destination for kayak fishermen of all skill levels. The morning started off with a successful effort to catch live mackerel for bait! After that I started trolling live mackerels, traveling south down toward the San Clemente Pier. I ended up catching some fun calico bass and had to battle a serious headwind back to the launch spot! I love kayak fishing!
