How does the zombie infection actually work in The Walking Dead and the Last of Us, and which one would we stand a better chance of surviving in?

FACTUAL NOTES:
I actually consulted with a doctor on how the bacteria infection would work, but did not hear back until after I had made the video, so I’m putting the consult notes here. Essentially, the walker camouflage would not necessarily pose a risk if it remained outside the body, however, it would still be dangerous if anybody had cuts and depending on if the infection is aerobic or anaerobic, the cuts wouldn’t NEED to be that deep. And she confirmed 48 hours for a bacteria infection to wipe people out is definitely a stretch.
