Imagine suddenly realising you've got an unknown Roman road in your garden.

That's exactly what happened to David and Carole, when the wet weather revealed a clear Roman agger with side ditches in the back garden.

We were invited down to take a look and discuss David's ideas as to what the road might be. It runs counter to two well known Roman roads running from Ribchester to Manchester and Ilkley.

In this video we also take a look at the river crossing point, where David's ideas differ from those currently held by the Roman Roads Research Association.
