Recipe & Ingredients

In a cooker we will add 200 gram ghee. When ghee is hot enough, we will add 1-1/2 TSP Cumin seeds, 2 Cinnamon sticks, 2 Bay leaves and 3-4 medium onions sliced. Cook onions until they are light brown in color.

When onions are light brown in color, we will add 1.25 kg mutton and cook until it changes its color, cook for 5 minutes. After the color is changed we will add 7-8 cloves and 2-1/2 TBSP Ginger/garlic paste.

Now we will cook this for 8-10 minutes.

Once its cooked for 8-10 minutes we will add 3 TSP Coriander powder, 1 TSP Red chili powder, 1 TSP Kashmiri red chili powder, 1 TSP Turmeric powder, 2 TSP Salt and 250 gram fresh tomato puree.

Now we will cook this for 8-10 minutes.

Once its cooked for 8-10 minutes we will add 250 gram yogurt and again cook it for 8-10 minutes.

After that we will add 1/2 kg potatoes (cut in 4 pieces) and cook for 7-8 more minutes. Then we will add 3-4 green chilies and some coriander in it.

Then we will add 1.25 liters of water and cook this in pressure cooker for around 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes Aloo Gosht is ready to be served.
