In the world of custom bicycle frames, the standards of quality for TIG welding have been set very high. To really improve over time, you need to weld as many bike frames as possible. But I've found that another form of practice—welding practice joints—can also be extremely valuable, allowing me to practice welding on a weekly or even daily basis. In this video, I show my process for preparing bicycle tubes for practice welding, and how I assess and learn from my work as I go.
