Summary
This video focuses on Taipei Metro's Xiaobitan Branch Line, explaining the history of this short line, its current operation, and its impact on the area.

The Xiaobitan Branch Line is a short 0.75mi branch line that branches off from Taipei Metro's Songshan-Xindian Line, connecting Qizhang Station to Xiaobitan Station. This branch line has only one section with three-car trains.

The Xiaobitan Branch Line was originally built to use the siding to the depot as a passenger line. The branch line opened in 2004 due to the redevelopment of the surrounding area and the construction of high-rise apartment buildings.

Qizhang Station does not have a dedicated track for the Xiaobitan Branch Line, which blocks the arrival and departure of trains on the Songshan-Xindian Line. During rush hour, trains are scheduled to turn around at Taiwan Power Building Station just before Qizhang Station in order to ensure the number of trains on the Songshan-Xindian Line, reducing the convenience of the Songshan-Xindian Line, which has a large number of passengers.

High-rise apartment buildings and commercial facilities have been built around Xiaobitan Station, and an IKEA opened there in 2019. As a result, the number of users at Xiaobitan Station has increased to more than 7,000 people per day, but structural problems with the branch line remain.
