On the top of the professional armed forces, Poland is going to create a kind of milita force, called "Territorial Defence Force". Until 2023, this civilian part-time force should consist of 53 000 light infantry militiamen. Many experts doubt if this force is really useful, among them the political analyst Slawomir Sierakowski.
