The Historical Suffering of the Israelites, This journey of affliction began with the fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., when the Roman Empire destroyed the Second Temple, leading to a significant dispersion of the Israelites across the globe. This event was just the beginning of centuries of persecution, including the brutalities of the Spanish Inquisition, where israelites faced forced conversions, torture, and execution. In recent history we continue to see the suffering and affliction. We the people of the book have to endure till the end.
