Carlos Machado, now in his fifties, started Jiu Jitsu at the age of four. He has learned Jiu Jitsu directly from the source. His main instructor being his cousin Carlos Gracie Jr (Son of Carlos Gracie. Founder of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu).

Along with his impressive competition record, he has been integral to the overall promotion of the sport. Carlos and his brothers are well known in the community demanding respect from any practitioner due to their skills, knowledge and reputation.
