Got lucky with the weather (listen to me- it was August!) and it coincided with a spring tide, none of this was planned, but by the time I arrived, and launched it was the hours around high water and I think this is the best time,as a lot of the caves dry out at low water.
A word of warning the ramp at Flamborough North Landing is deceptively steep! as I got halfway down the weight of the boat was too much (even though it was lightly loaded) as the dry sand was providing excellent lubrication qualities between concrete and wetsuit boot, the whole thing went out of control and I had to just run down with it,luckily the ramp was clear at the time even though there was a lot of people about. Also getting back up was difficult, luckily a helpful kid saw me struggle and helped me up to the top-nice one kid,see they aren't all bad.
The whole area is riddled with caves not unlike Swiss cheese, and the bird life is unbelievable,I will post another video next of Bempton Cliffs on the same evening demonstrating the extent, diversity and deafening racket!
