Blue Sky The Peak Patio: Fire Pit Review. I just received my order so I unbox it and set it up. You'll see I tried two different types of fires. One with the same amount of wood I would have put into my old fire pit, and one with wood pellets. The first burn would have discouraged me from buying this thing. **UPDATE 12/2020: I decided to return the fire pit for two reasons. 1. When the pit is at full bore, the fire is huge, and hot, and my seating space on my deck is too small to keep everyone far enough away from it and comfortable. This is better suited for the bare ground or patio with lots of room. 2. The ash tray is annoying to remove, and while it's not something you need to do frequently, its a pain, and other smokeless pits have a easier design**. Overall this is still a good pit, and produces a huge hot fire and is smokeless when using pellets, or lots of wood.
