Vibrator power supplies with electromechanical components became a popular solution in the 1940's for producing high voltages necessary for powering and biasing the vacuum tube circuits for radios and other equipment.

Resurrecting these old radios often requires repair to the vibrator component, and getting internal access to the reeds and contacts of the vibrator requires removal from a protective canister housing.
