Less than an hour from the excitement and glitz of the Las Vegas Strip - and the extreme late summer temperatures! - is a mountain getaway that few visitors know about. We mean to change that! Come along with us on a hot August Wednesday, and escape up to the cool green glories of Mount Charleston, Nevada. This peak tops out at close to 12,000 feet in elevation, and along the winding road up are jaw-dropping vistas courtesy of Mother Nature, and a few stop-offs built by man that are worth a look. Your hiking boots aren't required, just grab a water and let's go!
