I am a millennial, so I like listicles. So, I'm going to do a 7, 10 or 20 (depending on how I feel I have time) list of suggestions on how to do worldbuilding. Or what some people call 'IP creation'. I also like long floaty introductions so I'll start with why worldbuilding is important, why that's where games can most improve currently. Why worldbuilding is big business. Why classy worldbuilding is often almost all there is to an 'IP' (with some examples from LOTR to 3 body problem etc.). And then I'll just try to offload usable tips to the people gathered there. Just plain bullet point list stuff. Like make sure your world can house multiple genres of story, from detective to adventure. That it can be used for games and other media. To more minute stuff like how to cultivate cultural interests and how to use Wikipedia for worldbuilding etc. Basically, that's it. I won't do a big preparation for this, since I know it all by heart -- it's what I'm operating on right now anyway, at work, and what I've operated on for years in games and as a novelist.

Robert Kurvitz, Creative Director of Disco Elysium – RED INFO
