You’ve seen the 1967 Crusher Camaro in a number of issues of Hot Rod magazine over the past 30 years, and also in a bunch of episodes of Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, and Hot Rod Garage on MotorTrend TV. In this video, I’m going to test it on the quarter-mile dragstrip.

For the car’s latest setup, I returned it to the way it looked when it was first finished in Hot Rod in 1995, Convo Pro wheels and all. It even has the same cowl-induction hood it had 30 years ago. The engine is a 400ci small-block Chevy, the trans is a GearStar Turbo 350, it has a Gear Vendors overdrive, and the rearend is a 9-inch with 3.50:1 gears. Prior to this video, the Camaro had run 11.75 seconds at The Strip in Las Vegas. How quick can it be at Famoso Dragstrip near Bakersfield? That’s what we're here to find out, and I’ll give you some history and trivia along the way.

To see the full 30-year history of this car with its eight different looks, go here:    • 30 Years of the CRUSHER CAMARO, Behin...

Thanks to Kleet Norris and Famoso Dragstrip for the archival images. See the track’s schedule here: https://famosodragstrip.com/
