Description

This is a project I created in August 2020 (before all of the Titanic engine projects). I wanted to know if I can design and build a 3D printable steam engine. Furthermore, I challenged myself not to look up any existing plans or designs but to only use what I learned over the course of my life. And I must say I was pretty excited when I got it working.

If you want to build one, I highly recommend the one cylinder engine. It is much more forgiving in terms of precision and has more power. The four cylinder engine was more of a proof of concept but I included the files anyway, because it is fun to look at.

All the files are released under the creative commons license. This means, you can do whatever you want with them. If you build an engine, please tag me on Twitter (  / 0x3b29  .

All the files and a description on how to print and assemble the parts can be found on my GitHub account: https://github.com/0x3b29/3D-Printabl... . Some time in the future, I’ll upload the files to a 3D printing site as well and update this description.

Thanks for watching
