After the group stage the real tournament starts now with the knockout stage. From now on, every game is like a final. Spain was the only team that won all three games in group stage so they have become one of the favorites to win the tournament, but never underestimate the Germans... England is dreaming to win the trophy in their own country but Croatia in their first tournament ever will be a tough opponent. Eastern European greats Hagi and Stojkovic meet in ROM-YUG. After poor performances in the group stage Italy has to do better to beat Russia. Norway surprisingly won their group and face Belgium that just qualified as one of the best 3rd placed teams. Portugal wants revenge for their loss in Euro 1984 semifinals. This time France does not have Platini, but Zidane and Djorkaeff... Wales was maybe the biggest surprise of all. The game against 1992 champions Denmark is 50:50.
