In this video I install PDI Diesel's Big Boss turbo, ceramic coated manifold, and install kit onto my daily-driven '95 Kenworth W900L Cummins N14. We're doing a real-world test on this work truck that's getting up in years. In fact, the engine itself will be due for a rebuild within a year.
Regardless, installation of the PDI kit was very straightforward and I immediately noted quicker throttle response and turbo spooling for boost. My truck's boost gauge tops out at 35 psi and it easily gets pegged almost immediately at full throttle now.
My next observation was the EGTs and under the same conditions, I saw a drop of 50-100 degrees cooler exhaust temperature according to my dash's (questionably accurate?) gauge. Again, the brand's claim was confirmed.
Lastly, I calculated the truck's average fuel milage two weeks before the installation and then two weeks after. The results were a minor but confirmed .25MPG improvement.
So bottom line: would I recommend PDI Performance Diesel Products? Absolutely. They're proudly made in the United States of America of high quality castings and hardware. They met or exceeded every advertised claim in their literature. They have a great warranty and are available both online and at many truck events nationwide for questions & advice.
I'm genuinely impressed and so is my boss, so mission accomplished! To get your hands on PDI products click here https://pdidiesel.com or follow them on social media ‪@pdidiesel‬
I'd like to personally thank Jerad and the crew at PDI for the opportunity to test out the Cummins goodies they offer. I'm truly honored and hopefully it helps you decide on the best parts for your Diesel engine.
