In this episode of God’s Cosmos, Shaykh Hamza addresses the concept of creation from both the biblical and scientific perspectives, focusing on the contradiction between the Bible's account of creation and modern scientific theories, such as the Big Bang.

The Bible begins with "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth," and through genealogies, Christian scholars estimate the universe's age to be around 6,000 years. However, the Big Bang theory posits the universe is 13.8 billion years old, creating a significant conflict. Shaykh Hamza explains that the Bible's creation narrative includes six 24-hour days, but Big Bang cosmology suggests stars and the sun existed before the Earth, directly contradicting the biblical sequence.

While some Christians, like William Lane Craig, attempt to reconcile the Bible with science by interpreting Genesis as "mytho-history," Shaykh Hamza notes that this still leads to a problematic rejection of the Bible's literal truth, a position that can also undermine core Christian beliefs like the incarnation of Jesus.

The episode ends with Shaykh Hamza pointing out that the Quran, unlike the Bible, does not contradict the Big Bang theory and actually appears to confirm it. In future episodes, he plans to explore how the Quran aligns with modern scientific understandings of the universe. He concludes by inviting viewers to explore his Why Islam Is True course, which offers rational arguments for Islamic beliefs, addressing challenges from atheism and modern science.
