One of the rarest movements I've ever seen at Newcastle Airport is this Airbus A330-700 Beluga XL arriving from Toulouse.
With strong crosswinds from the south, Gusting up to 21-22kts, the Beluga arrived at Newcastle for around 1030. After landing and vacating at the end of the runway, the crew made their request to perform some touch and go's on runway 25.
After taxiing back to the holding point of the runway, the crew then were cleared for takeoff and began their test/training programme.
Eventually after 3 touch & go's on the runway the A330-700 landed once again, and the crew requested their clearance down to East Midlands Airport where they would continue their training.
To see the mighty Beluga XL rounds off what has been a pretty difficult 2020, it really was nice to see such a special training flight by Airbus arrive into the North East.
