Let's take a walk in Vienna in and around the Hermesvilla, the famous Palace of Dreams of Empress Elisabeth, located in the Lainzer Tiergarten—a former hunting area of the Habsburg nobility. The name "Hermesvilla" refers to the white marble statue of the god Hermes, located in the gardens. The palace was built by Emperor Franz Joseph to encourage his ever-traveling wife, Empress Elisabeth, to stay in Vienna. It is now used as an exhibition space for the Wien Museum and hosts a permanent Sisi Exhibition on the first floor (which we will visit).
