First step: picking flowers
Here at the beginning of the morning when the air is still fresh and cool and the flowers are just opening. Roses are carefully and sensitively picked from gardens and parks.
After collecting the flowers, in the next step, washing is done to remove foreign particles and pollution.
In the next step, these beautiful and characteristic plants are transferred to special pots for water extraction. These pots are often made of copper.
After picking and placing them in the pot, the boiling process begins. The pot is slowly placed on the fire and the water boils inside the pot. During this process, the fragrance and color of the flowers are transferred to the water and it becomes rose water. This step usually takes time and requires patience and concentration.
The next stage is distillation, in which the evaporated steam is directed to a distillation tube. In this tube, the evaporated steam turns into a liquid by cooling. This liquid, which is rose water, is separated through the tube and placed in collection containers. At this moment, the amazing color and smell of rose water spreads in the air and mesmerizes all the audience.
In the next step, the obtained rose water is purified because it may contain small particles that must be separated from it. This step includes filters and purifying materials to obtain pure rose water without foreign particles.
This rose has a very pleasant and natural fragrance and is used as a natural perfume and disinfectant. Rose oil is also obtained at this stage.
Rose-water harvesting in Iran has a long and old history and is known as a traditional and local process. Various villages and cities in Iran, including Kashan villages, are known as centers for the production of rose water, which have an international reputation and attract many tourists from the country every year. And abroad, they travel to this region to see this process and buy rose water and its side products.
