Installing a Nu Aqua Platinum Series Reverse Osmosis System
The Nu Aqua Platinum Series is a reverse osmosis water filtration system designed to provide clean and pure water for your home. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to install the Nu Aqua Platinum Series system. Please note that this is a general guide, and it's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions provided with your specific model.
1. Gather the necessary tools:
• Adjustable wrench
• Drill with a 1/4-inch drill bit
• Teflon tape
• Screwdriver
• Utility knife
2. Turn off the cold water supply valve under the sink and open the faucet to relieve any pressure in the water line.
3. Install the feed water adapter to the cold water supply line by following these steps:
• Unscrew the existing cold water line from the shut-off valve.
• Wrap the threads of the adapter with Teflon tape.
• Screw the feed water adapter onto the shut-off valve.
• Reconnect the cold water line to the adapter.
4. Mount the RO system's pre-filter housings and membrane housing on the wall or inside the cabinet under the sink using the provided mounting bracket and screws. Ensure they are easily accessible for future maintenance.
5. Attach the color-coded tubing to the corresponding connections on the RO system using the provided push-fit fittings. The tubing colors and connections are as follows:
• Red: Feed water inlet
• Blue: Product water (purified water) outlet
• Yellow: Waste (drain) water outlet
6. Connect the red tubing to the feed water adapter installed in step 3.
7. Install the drain saddle onto the sink's drainpipe by following these steps:
• Drill a 1/4-inch hole in the drainpipe above the p-trap.
• Attach the drain saddle over the hole and tighten it with the provided screws.
• Connect the yellow tubing to the drain saddle.
8. Install the faucet on the sink or countertop by following the manufacturer's instructions. Connect the blue tubing to the faucet.
9. Install the storage tank by following these steps:
• Wrap the threads of the tank valve with Teflon tape.
• Screw the tank valve onto the storage tank's port.
• Connect the provided tubing to the tank valve and the corresponding connection on the RO system.
10. Turn on the cold water supply valve and check for leaks. If any leaks are found, tighten the connections as needed.
11. Allow the system to fill the storage tank, which may take a few hours. Drain the first tank of water to flush the system, and then it's ready for use.
