Doc McGhee is an American music manager renowned for his work with some of the most prominent rock bands in the world, including Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, and KISS. Describing himself as a "handicapper" who picks the right "horses" to ride, McGhee has a keen eye for talent and has been instrumental in elevating artists to stardom. He focuses on empowering musicians, finding paths to success, and helping them realize their full potential. Notably, he played a significant role in transitioning Darius Rucker from pop to country music, leading to multiple number-one singles. McGhee also organized the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989, a significant cultural event during the end of the Cold War. Born in Virginia and raised in Chicago, he began his career as a musician before moving into management. As of this interview, he is retiring from band management but remains involved in innovative projects.
