Although this performance had never been officially approved for release, it was quite popular in the LP era. Despite its rarity today, this recording is still often referenced for the unique collaboration between Gérard Souzay and Alfred Cortot (whose interpretation is quite different from his commercial recording with Charles Panzéra in 1935).
