Cross references allow you to dynamically use text from elsewhere in you document. It also creates a clickable hyperlink if you export to interactive PDFs. For example, if you want to reference a page number, of course they’re easy to just write down manually. But they don’t always remain the same, so why not make sure that you don’t have to double check all of them as soon as something changes.
