The survivors, facing extreme cold, high altitudes, and dwindling supplies, endured harrowing conditions, resorting to cannibalism to stay alive. After 72 days of struggle, a daring rescue mission led to the survival of 16 individuals, whose ordeal remains a testament to human endurance and resilience.
