Santa Cruz Hightower Review: Santa Cruz describes its own trail bike, the Hightower, as the happy medium - and when you look at the key data, you're inclined to agree with this statement. 150 mm of travel at the front meets 145 mm at the rear, there are 29" wheels and a geometry that is downhill-focused but not too radical, as is typical for Santa Cruz. The Lower Link VPP rear triangle is familiar from numerous other Santa Cruz models. On the Hightower, it aims to offer the perfect mix of uphill efficiency and downhill capabilities. With a weight of 14.7 kg, the Hightower is in the middle of our comparison test, but in terms of price, it's more in the Champions League: the version we tested, including Reserve carbon wheels, costs a hefty €9,999.
