On July 18th, 2020 we made last minute plans to try and photograph the comet (NEOWISE) before it disappeared for the next 6,800 years. We did some research and picked a state park, away from the city (Baltimore) and found a decent hike with a lookout that faced NW. The afternoon was spent in the historic downtown of Frederick, MD and at around 7:00pm our hike began. The night hike was too dark to capture much footage on the trail but stay to the end to see how our first attempt at astrophotography turned out!
