News on the 2002 Jaguar XJ8 (X308 series), and not all of it is good. On a couple of drives out, error messages popped up on the dash and the car went into limp-home mode. There are several possible causes of this, and in this video I begin to look into what the problem(s) might be.
Cars of this age (and newer), not just Jaguars, are very dependent on electronics, and everything - including battery, earths and various sensors - have to be 100% to keep all the computers and various modules around the car happy.
To help diagnose any problems and enable me to monitor various systems on the car "live", ie with the engine running, I bought an iCarsoft LR V2.0 diagnostic tool and in this video, I show some of its functionality. I've no links with the supplier or manufacturer of this gadget, I'm just showing what I bought to iron out niggles with the old Jaguar XJ8. After having sat for several years, I am not surprised that there are a few gremlins in the works.
