The 2022 durian season in Penang has already started in early May. Today, May 8, I went to a durian orchard in Teluk Bahang by bicycle to taste durian. There are very less durians in the first batch this year. Many of trees are blooming but not becoming a fruit.
槟城2022年度榴莲季节已经在五月初开始了，今天五月八号，又骑脚车上去直落巴巷的榴莲园一尝榴莲。今年的第一邦花的榴莲很少，很多都开花不结果。

When we arrived at the durian orchard, the owner reserved seven durians. Unfortunately, only three were edible, and the other four were spoiled. The three are 604, Red Lipan and White Lipan.
到了榴莲园，园主留了七粒榴莲，可惜只有三粒可以吃，其他四粒坏掉了。这三粒是604，红蜈蚣和白蜈蚣。

604 is one of the earliest durians to drop in Penang. When you see this durian, it is the beginning of the Penang durian season.
604是槟城榴莲最早掉落的榴莲之一，当您一看到这榴莲，就是槟城榴莲季节的开始。

“Lipan” durian is different on “Red Lipan” and “White Lipan”. These two are completely different durians. The flesh of the Red Lipan is red orangish. While the White Lipan is white or beige colour. In terms of taste, the White Lipan is generally better than the Red Lipan. The White Lipan has a vanilla slightly bitter taste, highly sticky and very fine fiber. The taste of Red Lipan is generally sweet and with a chocolate taste.
蜈蚣榴莲则有分为红蜈蚣和白蜈蚣，两种是截然不同的。红蜈蚣果肉是呈橙红色的，白蜈蚣则是白色或米色。味道方面则是白蜈蚣一般都比红蜈蚣来得好，白蜈蚣味道甘香列带苦味，高粘度，纤维非常细腻。红蜈蚣味道一般偏甜，带朱古力味道。
